Around 20 bamboo shelters were destroyed or damaged as a result of an elephant entering Madhusara area of Kutupalong refugee settlement, in Cox’s Bazar District, Bangladesh, at around 8.30am on Thursday, 29th March.
During the situation, evacuating tents, Rohingyas took shelter on top of the hill. The elephant went away after its 30 minutes rampage in the camp. No loss of life occured though a number of settlements destroyed, reports RNTV correspondent.
Since the refugee influx last August, at least 10 people have been killed as a result of incidents involving elephants.
